As part of the children and youth telephone service, trained young people advise callers on Saturdays from 14 p.m. to 20 p.m. The JbJ is an offer
of the Child Protection Center Hannover in cooperation with Nummer gegen Kummer eV

Young people advise young people
on the children's and youth hotline of the number against grief Join in – get trained and advise your peers!

• You are 18 – 25 years old (before the start of the consultation)
• You have an open ear for the concerns of your peers
• You are tolerant towards other opinions, cultures and religions
• You can understand fun and endure provocation
• You want to meet new people and enjoy working in a team
• You have time for the free 80-hour professional training
• You commit to working voluntarily for one year on the youth advice line of the “Nummer gegen Kummer” – with a certificate.

During your JbJ training, you'll learn everything you need to provide counseling on the children's and youth telephone line. You'll learn about important support services and address callers' concerns. You'll practice conversation skills, counseling techniques, and how to handle difficult situations on the phone. After your training, you'll begin your voluntary telephone counseling work. A contact person will be available to support you in the background during your assignment. You'll receive a certificate for the training and 50 hours of voluntary telephone counseling.
