If you WILLI If you would like to get to know us, you are welcome to come to our office hours on Wednesdays between 16.00:17.00 p.m. and XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. or to our meetings with our volunteers on the first Wednesday of every month in the neighborhood meeting Mittelfeld .

Who is this WILLI actually?
WILLI the volunteer shop is a project of Gemeinwesenarbeit Mittelfeld.
The name came from the word freiWILLIg.

  • You can ask here if you need help. This could be a shelf that needs to be drilled, or a small cabinet that needs to be assembled, or anything that you would do yourself if you could.
  • WILLI also helps if you can no longer do your shopping on your own or if you need someone to accompany you to the doctor.
  • But maybe you want to help yourself and support other people with these things. Even then you can contact WILLI.

And where is the store?
WILLI the volunteer shop was originally housed in a shop.
Since 2014 you can find WILLI in the Nachbarschaftstreff Mittelfeld, At the Mittelfelde 104. The name of the volunteer shop has remained.

What are the advantages if I want help from WILLI?

  • The helpers are known to us personally and enjoy our complete trust. All volunteers have submitted a certificate of good conduct to us.
  • The helpers are registered with IKEM, the information and coordination center for voluntary work in the state capital of Hanover, and are therefore also insured if an accident occurs during their voluntary work.

How would such a mission go?
Ms A. calls WILLI and asks for support. The handle on her shoe cabinet broke.

  • WILLI regulates the query for the assignment with the volunteers by phone, via WhatsApp, SMS or e-mail.
Mr B. would like to take over the task.

Ms A. decides how to contact the EA:

  • Mr B. called her to make an appointment for the repairs.
  • Mr B. meets her in advance during the consultation hours so that both can get to know each other beforehand.

Of course, Ms A pays for the new cabinet handle.
The work itself is not remunerated.

What happens if Ms A and/or Mr B don't like each other?
Of course everything has to fit! Nobody is “forced” to take on a task. An assignment can be rejected here without giving a reason.

What do I have to do to volunteer at WILLI?
Call, make an appointment or come to the office hours:

  • briefing
  • Fill out the registration form
  • Wait for mail from IKEM and apply for a police clearance certificate with the cover letter from IKEM
  • Wait for the OK from IKEM and then it starts at the WILLI's

I would like to work at WILLI. What do I do when all this is getting to be too much for me?

  • At WILLI everyone can help as much or as little as they want.
  • There are regular assignments, such as reading mentors, tutoring for students or shopping assistance.
  • But there are also many one-off assignments, such as setting up a bar, hanging up a picture, a one-time accompaniment to the doctor, etc.

Vacation plans of volunteers are not affected by the assignments.

What else does WILLI do apart from helping?

  • The volunteers can meet once a month to exchange experiences.
  • There is also a thank-you meeting twice a year for everyone, for example a nice breakfast, dinner or an afternoon barbecue.
  • In addition, there are occasional joint projects. Last year, for example, an insect hotel was created.

Who can I contact if I need help or would like to offer help?
There are several ways to get information about WILLI or request help:

  • Every Wednesday there is Nachbarschaftstreff from 16 p.m. to 17 p.m. the WILLI consultation hour.
  • On every 1st Wednesday of the month you can also find out more at the WILLI Café and get to know the WILLI team. The WILLI Café is a get-together where volunteers can exchange ideas.
  • Of course there is also telephone 0511 - 9691826 or email frei-Willi@gmx.de
